Multiple Local Arists Rack It Up on the Grammy Ballot!

Local tenor saxophonist Larry Slezak along with his bandmates and engineers scored placement with four spots on the 2009 Grammy First-Round Ballot. This is the pre-nomination list from which the final slots in each category are selected. Here are their nominations: Best Jazz Instrumental Album, Individual or Group, "No Worries" Best Improvised Jazz Solo: Larry Slezak and Jose-Miguel Yamal (each with separate nominations) Engineer of the Year Non-Classical Division

Vocalist Kristine Mills also scored a spot on this year's ballot for her Brazilian album "Bossanovafied". Mills won the Houston Press "Best Jazz Vocalist" spot in 2009 as well.
Austin vocalist and frequent Cezanne artist Kat Edmonson is also among the Best Jazz Vocal spots. Best Jazz with Vocals
