I'm told that Reggie passed away this morning at 7:15.

There will be no funeral but plans are in the works for a memorial concert and jam. We'll keep everyone informed about that.

Reggie was the first musician I called when I came to town many years ago. A great musician and good friend. You will be missed.

We have lost a great trombonist and a beautiful soul. Reggie was my friend and sometimes section mate for a good 45 years. His heart was as big as his sound. Goodbye for just a little while, Reggie.

RIP Reggie!! Another Houston music great and wonderful friend has left us. I'll treasure the moments we've share on and off the bandstand. Prayers of peace and comfort go out to his family.

A very kind and sweet soul that I'll miss. I'm so glad I had many chances to play trombone next to him, especially the opportunities to trade with him. LOVE.
