BIO
Dora Hammer's life has revolved around gospel music for many years. From 1984 to 1985 she attended Jackson College of Ministries where she sang lead on Lanny Wolfe's song, "Perfect Love." She went on to attend Christian Life College (Stockton, CA) earning Bachelors Degree in Music and Theology in 1991. For eight years, she recorded and toured with Dove Award Nominees, Wayne and Elizabeth Goodine. With the Wayne Goodine Singers she has toured extensively across the entire U.S. and Canada and Jamaica. Highlighting the tours were their choir clinics at the Brooklyn Tabernacle in New York. In 1992, her song Scars won 1st place for inspirational song writing at Christian Artists Seminar in the Rockies. In 1994, She traveled with the Lanny Wolfe singers and sang for the troups in GITMO as they were preparing to invade Haiti. She has also served as a clinician at various Music Workshops offering seminars on vocal stylings, the care of the voice, working with small vocal groups and ensembles, etc. As a jazz vocalist, she has performed in such local Houston venues as the Red Cat Jazz Café, the Sambuca Jazz Café, the Mucky Duck, Cezannes,Ovations and the Lakewood Yacht Club. She has studied piano and voice at the University of North Texas, University of the Pacific, Rice University- Shepherd School of Music and Houston Baptist University.
