Background

Acoustic and Electric Jazz Guitarist/composer,producer/mixing engineer

Classical, 10 String Classical, 12 String, Strats and Teles, Blues, Rock and Country too. Lots of studio experience. I love groups, I love solo and duo work. I play a lot with singers.

I also play Classical Music of Northern India on Bansuri flute. You know, Ragas and stuff. If you want to know about Indian Music, or getting a good instrument, I can help.

Engineering, Production, Editing, Mixing and some Mastering too, audiophile quality, great digital converters, lots of plugs. 14 years experience working with Andy Bradley at Sugar Hill. We made lots of records. Back in the 2" days!

I will teach Jazz and Blues guitar/Music Theory if you really want to learn. The guy I studied with (Marty Crum) is a top studio guy in Nashville who studied with Pat Metheny when he was at the University of Miami. You will get it from me the same way I got it from them. A bunch of my students go Pro.

And yes, I am actually based in Houston now!

Music That Inspires Me

Coltrane, Wes, all the Greats. Ralph Towner. I really dig Mike Moreno and Aaron Parks. Andrew Lienhard blows me away, he's as smart and soulful as they come. Dennis Dotson sounds better to me than anything. Mike Nase punishes us all. My childhood heroes are cool too, Hendrix, Beck, Gibbons, Allman, Winter. Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Ravel, Debussy, Mozart's Requiem.Sergio and Oday Assad. Egberto Gismonti. Lots of Eastern Music. Ali Akbar Khan, Nikhil Banerjee, Kudsi Erguner, Ragunath Seth, Kishori Amonkar, Abeeda Parveen, Gundecha Bros. Whatever is the rare, the exquisite, the beautiful.

Films I'll Watch More Than Once

Citizen Kane, L.A. Confidential, The Matrix, Bladerunner, As Good As It Gets, Gone With The Wind, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Sex, Lies and Videotape, Zefferelli's Romeo and Juliet, Pulp Fiction, There Will Be Blood, my memory is fading...
