Background

Sam Goldenhar is an Upright Bassist, HSPVA graduate and University of North Texas jazz major.   He was born in Pittsburgh but his family moved to Houston when he was 3.   During his time at HSPVA he was incredibly lucky to have had Doctor Robert Morgan as his professor and Doc organized many trips abroad that Sam was always part of as the Upright Bassist in the big band.  Sam has been a constant presence on the Houston Jazz scene for many years when he is not at sea !  For the past 20 years he has consistently been employed by several cruiselines as their resident bassist in the Showband but since the year 2000 he has been performing in a duo with his Australian pianist/vocalist wife Margie Hobbs.   For more information about Sam please contact his website:
