Background

Saxophonist Woody Witt performs with a wide variety of groups including the Houston Symphony and leads his own group which features renown artists such as Randy Brecker, Tim Hagans, Billy Hart, Tim Armacost, Jim Rotondi and Ed Soph. Presently he serves as the artistic director/manager of Houston's premiere jazz club, Cezanne.

Woody is currently a Professor in Jazz Studies and Academic Music at HCC, as well as an Affiliate Artist at the University of Houston Moores School of Music. Woody holds a Master's Degree in Jazz Studies from University of North Texas and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Houston. Woody is a Yamaha Performing Artist.
