Buford began his musical journey playing piano as a child
Buford began his musical journey playing piano as a child. He
switched to guitar at the age of 15 and played in local R&B and Funk bands
in his native town of East St. Louis, Illinois and in college bands at Southern
Illinois University. After graduation he
moved to the upstate New York area where he played in local R&B bands part time
while pursuing a full time career in Engineering. He has since relocated to the
Houston, Texas area and turned his musical focus primarily
to Christian music.
His musical influences have included Jimi Hendrix, George
Benson, Stevie Wonder and his father Henry Noris Sr, an accomplished blues guitarist,
to name just a few.
Buford has played extensively in the Houston gospel music scene for over two decades
with various artists including Hanq Neal, The Windsor Village Methodist Church
Choir, Yolanda Adams, Oliver Scott, and Joy Tabernacle’s Voices of Joy

In addition to
pursuing his solo musical interests with the release of his debut CD entitled
‘‘Get Ready’’, Buford is also lead guitarist with The Voices of Joy (Joy
Tabernacle Baptist Church) where he is a founding member of the Joy Band, and with
the Texas Jazz Central big band (Houston Community College). This gifted
musician and songwriter has a love for music that encompasses many genres yet
he understands that all inspiration is given by God. His aim is to create music
that honors God and celebrates life.
