Background

I'm a native Virginian(Richmond) who just moved to the area(April 15th). I've been playing piano since the age of 7, when dad taught me Saturday in the Park!! I was born with an "ear" that I have developed over the years where my pitch is pretty strong now. I majored in Piano for a semester at Virgnia Commonwealth University, but didn't hang b/c my ear overtook the requirements to sight read. I have played in bands most my life, most notably with a group that backed the 60s group The Impressions. My style is Jazz fusion/R&B/Soul with a hint of gospel in there. I gig with a weighted 88 key Yamaha along with other boards for synth etc. I sing and play mostly Michael Mcdonald tunes as well as lots of Steely Dand, Toto, Ambrosia stuff. I also love Earth, Wind and Fire stuff!! I am currently writing tunes for my first CD yet to be titled; I hope to include some of the great Houston area musicians on the cd along with some cats from back home; anyway, I am so psyched to be in a great "music" city...this is all so new for me and I feel like I can really make something happen with my musical ability.
