Background

Hamdi has been playing guitar since the early 70’s. His lead guitar style incorporates the feel of Jazz Fusion, Rock, and some Arabic Rock/Jazz fusion.  His music has been influenced by artists and groups such as Carlos Santana, Jean-Luc Ponty, Al Di Meola, Vinnie Moore, Alan Holdsworth, Rush, and Camel.

Hamdi has played in bands in and around Cairo, Egypt during the 80's and 90's. He personally knows Egyptian Jazz icon Yehya Khalil (John Friend), and was a temporary member of Fathy Salama's Sharkiyyat band (Arabic Jazz/Funk/Fusion). He currently enoys playing in a Katy band with three other musicians and records music at home.
