Background
Currently, I am an upperclassman studying jazz performance at Sam Houston State University. Great strides have been accomplished in my technique; being mentored by amazing, accomplished artists nationwide, and certainly the daily input of my primary professors, one who is unquestionably recognized as one of the best saxophone professors in the state of Texas.
I presently hold the lead tenor position in the Sam Houston State University Jazz Ensemble. Our most recent project was recorded at Crystal Clear Studios in Dallas, Texas; the release is projected for the end of August, 2010.
My participation in Houston's New Life Center church band affords me the opportunity to play alongside highly talented musicians, many who regularly play for some of the mega-churches in Houston, such as Lakewood and Fellowship of the Woodlands. We are currently involved in the release of a new Christian artist recording and the promo concerts.
My involvement with the SHSU Jazz Combo allows me the opportunity to play many different styles; such as straight ahead, be-bop, funk, latin, swing, and smooth jazz.
