JAZZ HOUSTON ORCHESTRA OPENS SEASON WITH ANN HAMPTON CALLAWAY

On Oct. 13, 2018, Houston’s Premier Jazz Ensemble, the Jazz Houston Orchestra will share the Miller Outdoor Theater stage with legendary Jazz Vocalist, Ann Hampton Callaway and Ramsey Lewis’ band “Urban Knights”! The orchestra, led by Artistic Director Vincent Gardner, will perform grooving Jazz and Blues music for the music-loving Houston audience at Miller. Come and get in the H-town groove with the Jazz Houston Orchestra, Urban Knights, and Ann Hampton Callaway!

The Jazz Houston Orchestra, led by Artistic Director Vincent Gardner, presents Grammy Award and Pulitzer Prize winning Trumpeter, Composer, Educator, and Scholar, Wynton Marsalis in concert. The program will consist of hard-swinging, grooving jazz compositions and arrangements written by Mr. Marsalis, Vincent Gardner and others from all eras of jazz. Houston’s premier Ensemble, The Jazz Houston Orchestra will be showcased alongside Mr. Marsalis in what will be his first solo visit to Houston in over 15 years. Houston, come and swing with the Jazz Houston Orchestra and Wynton Marsalis!
